The Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation loans artworks from its permanent collection to museums around the country and some of his iconic contemporary prints will be on display in an upcoming exhibition titled “Andy Warhol to Kara Walker: Picturing the Iconic” at the Art Museum of Sonoma County from April 12th to May 25th. In the podcast, Jordan first shares with us why he’s so committed to sharing prints from his collection with other museums and institutions. Then, he tells us to what extent he has witnessed recent technologies impacting printmaking and if it has factored into the proliferation of contemporary art prints. Also, Jordan compares the current state of the contemporary print market to where it was when he first began collecting and explains why the print market is a great area to focus on for beginning collectors.

In this week’s edition of the ArtTactic Podcast, Charlotte Burns, US News, Market and Business Editor at The Art Newspaper, returns to the podcast to recap Armory Week in New York City. In the recent past, the Armory Show began to take a backseat to some of the other art fairs in the world, but it has since made a resurgence as Charlotte explains its “quiet rehabilitation”.  Then, Charlotte relays the type of art on view at the fair this year as well as what sold well. Also, she touches on the growing presence of Instagram within the art world and explains how different galleries and collectors are utilzing the platform. Finally, Charlotte tells us how confident the market remains despite some concern in the broader economy.

First, Mary shares how the market viewed the auctions and if they passed the first test of 2015. Then, she reveals to what extent the declining Euro impacted Europeans’ activities in the sales as well as if non-European bidders utilized their stronger currencies. Also, with Gerhard Richter being the winner of the week, Mary summarizes his interesting market performance over the past two decades. Lastly, Mary answers if market participants are beginning to feel fatigue over the constantly rotation door of new, emerging artists to appear on the auction block.

In this week’s edition of the ArtTactic Podcast, Bernadine Brocker, CEO of Vastari, returns to the podcast to update us on the growth of her company, focused on connecting collectors and museum curators for exhibitions. First, Bernadine shares some of the most recent success stories in which she was able to connect collectors and museum curators with an artwork ending up in a museum show.
